Tickets €13, incl. booking fee, go on sale tomorrow at 9am and are available from Ticketmaster. The electronic pop duo broke through in mid – 2012, after the release of their self-titled debut EP and stand-out single, ‘To You’. The band received nods from the like sof Pitchfork, The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland, Clash and more; topped the Hype Machine Charts and received a Single of the Week nomination from BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart. The last three years have been spent writing, releasing, rehearsing and refining – all the while picking up fans in the most unlikely places across the globe. For Rach and Ian, time, that precious commodity, has been well spent. Ian “In a weird way, this feels like the start for us because the first releases were really just experimenting. It feels like we have found it now and the simple but beautiful word birth made sense for us”. Rach simple says: “ We wanted to create something we were proud of”. Birth was recorded over the last 18 months at the band’s base in Cork and features collaborations with US producer Marce Reazon and Sacred Animals. Title track ‘Birth’ is a deceptively engaging record that shimmers in the light, hiding its depth in plain sight. The album is available to download and on limited vinyl. 07.05: Electrowerkz, London 16.05: The Savoy, Cork 22.05: Whelan’s Dublin 29.05: Roisin Dubh, Galway 30.05: Dolan’s Upstairs, Limerick 10.07: Valentia Isle Festival, Kerry 19.07: Longitude Festival, Dublin
