Fresh from their hugely successful support slot for Maroon 5 at the Grand Canal Theatre, The Shoos have just announced an exclusive headline performance at Whelan’s on Friday, April 8th.
Dublin four piece The Shoos caused quite a stir with the release of their single “Distance” in May 2010. The single achieved widespread airplay and the band impressed with live sessions at many radio stations nationwide including Today FM’s Ray D’Arcy Show.
On hearing the Today FM live session, attention was drawn by their now manager who introduced the band to major label Universal Music Ireland. “Distance” reached the #1 spot on the physical singles sales chart and in quick succession The Shoos inked a major deal with Universal Music.
Since then, they have been recording in LA with producer Warren Huart (The Fray) and while there, headlined a show at the legendary Viper Room in Hollywood. The have toured with One Republic, were invited to open for Maroon 5, Life House and Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters) and will celebrate the launch of their debut with live shows around the country
The Shoos will release their debut mini-album “Rescue Room” on the 8th April 2011. “Rescue Room” will feature 7 self-penned singles including lead track “Long Way Down”.
