THE FALSE AND FAIR are set to celebrate the release of their final single, Bluebottle Blues, bringing their notorious antics to the upstairs venue on November 17th for the shindig to end all shindigs.

TFATF have been on the Dublin scene for approximately 307 years, and released their chart-smashing hit EP The Space In Between last year. Sadly, the time has come for Tommy, Cormac, Jacob and Adam to go their separate ways, but not before dropping one last anxiety-tinged anthem for their millions* of adoring fans…

Bluebottle Blues, the band’s fan-favourite ode to pesky flies and paranoia, closes the book on TFATF’s story in suitably grandiose and eclectic fashion. “It’s less a swansong and more of a fly song”, explained guitarist Cormac Feeley in an illuminating TED talk. With groundbreaking visuals by veteran animator and noted guttershnipe Dillon Theodor, the track is already being described as “the greatest single in rock history” by frontman Tommy Cullen’s mum.

Rumours of the band’s breakup have been circulating in local tabloids for some time now, but the band have only recently confirmed this to be the case. Contacted for comment, bassist Adam Nugent was unfortunately “too asleep” to elaborate. Other sources have, however, clarified the band’s position on the matter.

“This will be the band’s final performance”, explained drummer Jacob Fry in a recent interview with Nuts magazine. “There will be no refunds”.
