2012 has seen New York City based Dublin singer-songwriter go from relative unknown to one of the most promising new faces of Irish music. She first received praise for her atmospheric-folk from Jim Carroll’s Irish Times blog On The Record in February and soon had people paying attention. Sorcha released her debut EP Sleep Will Set Me Free in June before playing to a capacity-crowd Upstairs in Whelan’s in August. Sorcha will play her first head-line show of 2013 Upstairs in Whelan’s on Jan 18 before returning to New York at the end of the month. It promises to be a very special night.
