RHOB CUNNINGHAM

RHOB CUNNINGHAM

plus guests.

Rhob Cunningham has had quite a year. In May 2010 he released an album under the banner ‘Our Little Secrets’. After gathering a willful band of likeminded cohorts, it was a project that gathered huge legs and massive interest, from audience, peers and industry folk alike.

Over the course of the last year, umpteen headline full band gigs took place around Ireland, a show or two in London and Berlin and Rhob & co. played countless support slots in varying semblances and forms with, among others: Gil Scott Heron, Villagers, Tori Amos, Cathy Davey, Kristin Hersh, Turin Brakes, James McMorrow, Mundy, Jennifer Evans, Damien Jurado and Lisa Hannigan.

The album, produced by the venerable Gavin Glass and mixed by Keith Farrell (The Duckworth Lewis Method), mastered in the late Liam Clancy’s studio in Dungarvan, and with a tune recorded by Ber Quinn thrown in for good measure, the album features the strumming, hitting and plucking of Gav, Keith, Cormac Curran (Villagers/Cathy Davey), Ross Turner (Jape/I Am The Cosmos), Shane Holly (Jennifer Evans & The Ripe Intent) and additional vocals by Lisa Hannigan, Cathy Davey, Mark Connaughton, Jenny Lindfors and assorted family members.

The project is nearly a year old, (the single Good or Bad Thing –attached here- was released on 5th March 2010) and Rhob will be touring the length and breath of the country once again with comedienne Maeve Higgins for the most part in February.

On Feb 26th, there will be the chance to catch a one off solo and intimate show in Whelan’s, expect a sprinkle of new songs, a pinch of gems from the Our Little Secrets album and a special guest or three thrown in for good measure!
