Following 180,000 streams on Spotify, playlisting on national radio in Ireland, Niamh Crowther follows up her radio hit “Little by Little” with her first proper EP, simply called “Niamh Crowther”. To celebrate this she’ll be playing Whelans on November 6th.
Niamh came to prominence in Ireland aged 16, when she beat over 15,000 other young people to claim a prestigious Youth Music Award. The judging panel included Willie Kavanagh (Then head of EMI), Jackie Hayden (Founder of Hotpress magazine and also the exec who signed U2 to their first record deal) and Will Ryan (Hozier). The accompanying rave reviews and talk about town earned her “one to watch” accolades from Hotpress and on her 18th birthday Niamh found herself on stage with Richie Sambora.
Following the completion of her Leaving Certificate (A Levels), Niamh set about recording in Windmill Lane with some help from Tim Martin (The Corrs, The Commitments, Declan O’Rourke). The result being the much awaited self-titled EP featuring the well-received “Origins” and the radio hit “Little by Little” which was playlisted on both RTE Radio 1 and RTE 2XM as well as single of the week accolades on Today FM and BBC Radio 2 and features across dozens of radio stations across Ireland and the UK.
The EP concludes with a live recording of new track “painkillers” and a brand new recording called “I’ll Be:”.
