WhelansLive is proud to present a celebration of new Irish music. Every Tuesday will see the upstairs venue play host to a series of the best of new music this country has to offer. Three hand-picked bands showcase their originality, performance and amazingly fresh songwriting skills. It is a great opportunity to see the next round of Ireland’s unsung and unsigned.

We are also happy to announce that twenty per cent of our digital sales will be going to MNDAI (Motor Neurone Disease Association of Ireland).
Cult called Man a band based in Tyrellstown, Co. Dublin & have been writing alternative rock music as a 6 piece band for a year.
We are passionate about writing experimental music & experimenting with the “pop” genre, putting our own unique stamp on the pop industry.
Cult Called Man have played all the usual music venues around Dublin (Whelan’s, Mercantile, The Mezz, The Twister Pepper, Sweeney’s and the Workman’s Club).
Cult Called Man have played with many Dublin bands including, Syracuze, The Hard Ground, In The Willows, Makings and S.I.L.Cult
Called Man’s debut E.P has so far reached number 9 in the ITunes chart alternative and was given a good review on “The Dirty Laundry” music review site. Read it here. http://dirtylaundry.ie/
Once Popular music and Art were friends, what happened?
The band aim to bring Art and new-wave thinking back to the people through music. With Cult Called Man sometimes playing characters that are satirical of the aspects of society. For example the
“The guys in white” were a dosile few whom society depicted as crazy for being happy with things
that were closer to themselves as opposed to material Items or technology.
Cult Called Man are currently working on a second E.P which is going to have a huge sound, with producer Lance Smith being heavily involved. They are also currently playing shows around
Dublin, Meath and across various places in the country.
Cult Called Man are now represented by Tracey Hanby of Gigs Ireland. www.gigsireland.ie.
Tracey is a former midwife turned Music promoter who acts as a voice for a lot of Irish bands at the roots level teaching them and guiding them through some of what can be the most confusing parts of the industry. She works closely with bands that interest her and we are proud that she is representing and working closely with Cult Called Man.
