Monster Monster Single Release – I Am Yours Following their recent successes, Monster Monster release their new single, I Am Yours. This is the band’s favourite song and combines their love of songwriting with a sonic approach that lies somewhere between Sadé and Massive Attack. A Breakthrough Act Isn’t Just For Christmas It’s been a busy few months for emerging Dublin band Monster Monster. It was only in October 2014 that the band officially began by putting up a Facebook page. They did their first gig in Dublin’s Bello Bar on November 27th to announce their debut song, Assassin. The song is currently picking up a thousand streams a day on Spotify. In December Liverpool Football Club heard another Monster Monster tune, Christmas in Liverpool. The club loved the tune and played it at all games in Anfield over Christmas. As far as Mick, (songwriter and life-long Liverpool fan) is concerned, this is ‘the best thing that has EVER happened!’ The story got picked up by the majors papers and blogs in Liverpool and Ireland. The song also went on to win the Christmas FM’s Best New Song competition and was played heavily on many Irish and some UK radio stations. Whilst this is a new act, the band have been working behind the scenes, recording music and honing their sound in Grouse Lodge and Beechpark Studios, with UK producer James Lewis (works with Rudimental, Sunset Sons, Morris Rae). Monster Monster place songwriting at the heart of the project. Songs by Mick Stuart (Guitar) are developed and made her own by Ríona Sally Hartman (Singer). Exploring the range between love and hate, they create one voice from contrasting perspectives. Mick writes with one thing in mind, Ríona sings with another. Mick suggests left, Ríona swings right. Mick listens to Massive Attack, Emilie Sandé and The Beatles, Ríona listens to Janelle Monae, The Eurythmics and Laura Marling. Then they get together, compare notes and argue over lyrics.
