HOST
https://www.facebook.com/host4real/
Host is a synth-pop artist from Laois, Ireland. Her music is brimming with dreamy synths and melodies, blissful and wide-eyed in its delivery. Host has a joyful approach to her music, taking inspiration from contemporaries like Diiv, Wolf Alice and The Japanese House as well as older influences such as The Cure and The Smiths. The result is a perfect blend of old and new, evoking a kind of glittering eighties pop that feels like it could soundtrack the end of a John Hughes’ movie.
Writing, producing and releasing her music completely independently, Host creates a sound that is upbeat and energetic but narrative is far more contemplative.
Her latest EP ‘Adolescent Content’ has been praised by a multitude of tastemakers such as, Nialler9, Hidden Herd, Head Stuff, Essentially Pop, Vanyaland, Analogue Trash, Totally Dublin, The Last Mixed Tape and more.
Host has featured on Spotify playlist’s such as ‘This is Ireland’ – Universal Music & ‘A Breath Of Fresh Eire’. She has had airtime on National radio across Ireland being TodayFM’s Play Irish artist and 2FM’s Play the Picnic artist nominee.
With more new music up her sleeve 2019 is set to be a very exciting year for Host .
