MAKINGS return to Whelan’s on 21st September with very special guests GREYFACE for what promises to be a night of high energy floor-filling music. Both bands performed at Whelan’s Ones To Watch early in 2019 and have gone on to have further success. Some highlights include Greyface’s recent performance at ‘Wacken Open Air’ in Germany while Makings put in a huge performance in Phoenix Park for Youbloom @ Bloom In The Park 2019.

MAKINGS
Makings are a six-piece outfit with a unique sound that weaves between electro, rock & rap. So far in 2019 they have performed at Vantastival, Youbloom @ Bloom In The Park, Oakfest, Whelan’s Ones To Watch, Midnight City and have toured Germany and UK. In February 2019 they launched their EP, which contains the singles ‘Blackhole’, ‘Pulse’ and ‘Beck N Call’, the first three tracks to be produced with Grammy-Award winning mixer Jim Lowe (Stereophonics). Since the release of their debut album ‘Cognition’ in 2016, the band’s image & sound has continued to evolve to where they are quickly becoming the go-to band for venues & festivals that require an energetic floor-filling performance. With many more releases in the pipeline, the group expect 2019 to be their biggest year yet!

GREYFACE
An Alternative group based in Dublin city. The bands philosophy is loosely based on the universal Freudian/Jungian ideas of the inner shadow. Each member of the group names and paints this inner being most people choose to ignore, or reject for its undesirability. The ‘shadow’ is the unknown within each human being. The group refer to their shadow as their ‘GREYFACE’ taking these ideas to the stage in a theatrical and explosive way.
Through high-energy performance, the band perform a stylized mix of music branching from hip-hop, to rock, to electronica. The group performs very regularly, having opened for ‘As It Is’ in The Academy Dublin, and performing at Wacken Open Air in Germany.
