Candlelit Tales presents
LUGHNASA
THE STORY OF CÚ CHULAINN’S FATHER
_ Main Venue _
Candlelit Tales are returning to Whelans for their unique blend of storytelling and music. This time, we’re telling the tale of the man who gave his name to the month: Lughnasa
(that’s August to us English-speakers!)
Lugh was the king of the Tuatha de Dannan, the once godlike people of the Celts. He was their hero, and the father of our hero Cuhculainn. Also known as the god of light, not all he did was sunshine and rainbows.
Join us to hear a tale of light and dark, with music that ebbs and flows, as we look at Lugh, the god of light who cast a long, dark shadow.
