‘Strange Trails’, the highly anticipated new album from Lord Huron will be released on April 6th through Play It Again Sam. ‘Strange Trails’ is the follow-up to Lord Huron’s debut ‘Lonesome Dreams’, which gained widespread critical acclaim and acknowledgment in the year end ‘best ofs’ in 2012.

‘Fool For Love’, the first track to be lifted from the album can be streamed/shared

Written and produced by frontman Ben Schneider, ‘Strange Trails’ was recorded at the band’s own Whispering Pines studio in Los Angeles. Of ‘Strange Trails’ Scheider explains, “It’s a pulp-fiction version of the world. Things are enhanced, condensed and combined in ways that assist the storytelling. Basis in and deviation from reality can result in a more real or affecting story. There’s no direct connection between ‘Strange Trails’ and ‘Lonesome Dreams’ aside from the themes,” he furthers. ‘We’re in the same world, but the stories are separated by time, location and characters. Last time around Lord Huron was a character in those stories. This time, Lord Huron is just narrating the tales.”

Originally a musical and visual solo project by Michigan-native-turned-Angeleno Schneider, members now include Mark Berry (percussion, vocals), Miguel Briseno (bass, percussion) and Tom Renaud (guitar, vocals). After a pair of EP’s, their debut album ‘Lonesome Dreams’ was released in 2010, followed by extensive touring commitments stateside including festival appearances at the likes of Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Firefly Music festival.
