Out of the ashes of ‘Keltic Posse’ and ‘Analogue Mindfield’ comes a fresh new sound in the form of J Roots.
With 28 years of experience making and producing music on an international level, frontman J Roots — AKA Johnny Quinn — has created a new album Soapbox Fury. This 16-track album is a slice of 70s Jamaican Roots Reggae that harks back to the Golden Ages of Studio 1 and Channel One. It is the first in a planned trilogy of albums due for release over the next 18 months.
Quinn/J Roots formed his first band, ‘Keltic Posse’, in London in 1985. After touring extensively for nine years, he moved on to work with The Subtonics. It was during this time that he formed the electronic dub outfit Analogue Mindfield, co-producing three albums for the legendary Malicious Damage, the label behind The Orb and Killing Joke.
He is joined on stage with an impressive band boasting the smokey toned Kitty B, various members of ‘Keltic Posse’, ‘Analogue Mindfield’ and ‘Dub Investigation’ for what promises to be an upbeat skanking night for sure.
