WORDLEGS 3RD BIRTHDAY PARTY
As part of our third birthday celebrations, the team at wordlegs have organised a free literary event with a twist! We will host an afternoon of Speed Connecting for people to meet and hopefully make connections.
WHERE AND WHEN?
This will take place at Saturday 13th of April at 4pm *sharp* in Whelans (Wexford St) – in The Parlour (top floor).
WHAT IS THIS?
Easiest way to describe this event is that it’s like speed dating but without the romance, the awkwardness and the innuendo. It’s like speed networking but without the suits, sales pitches and business cards. This is for people who love words, writing them, reading them, speaking them. This is for people who would like to meet people like them. People who go to other literary events in the city; people who have an interest in creative writing; people who adore books or poetry or film or theatre or people who just like chatting to the aforementioned people.
HOW IT WORKS
2-3 minute chats with others as introductions. At the end of this brief but stimulating, inspiring, fun conversation, we’ll sound an alarm which means you’ve to move on to your next potential connection.
You can write down the name of the person you’ve had chats with, if you want to give them positive feedback or comments which we’ll pass on.
During the event, no contact details will be traded (you can do this yourself after the event if you wish – there’s no pressure though)
CAN I COME?
Yes! We want you to join! We will need advance registration for this event so if you’re interested, join this event on Facebook or send us an email to confirm a place: info@wordlegs.com – this event is open to anyone who thinks they’d enjoy it. See you all then.
This event is free but if you wish to make a small donation which will go towards the administrative fees of this event and the organisation of other wordlegs’ events, we’ll have a wee box at the door.
