FOR A ONE-NIGHT ONLY SOLO ACOUSTIC SHOW! Acclaimed singer/songwriter to perform songs from his time in Split Enz & Crowded House as well as his incredible solo career TIM FINN, one of New Zealand’s most celebrated songwriters and musicians is returning to Dublin this summer for a one-off solo/acoustic show at Whelans on Saturday the 18th of July. Tickets €27 including booking fee go on sale this Friday at 9am from Ticketmaster. In the early 1970s Tim Finn formed the ground breaking band Split Enz, to be later joined by his brother Neil. Split Enz enjoyed a string of mainstream hits with Tim Finn penning the songs Six Months In A Leaky Boat, I Hope I Never, Dirty Creature and I See Red among others. In 1983 he recorded his debut solo album Escapade which yielded the hit singlesFraction Too Much Friction and Made My Day. Finn eventually left Split Enz all-together to focus on his bourgeoning solo career including a move into soundtrack composition. Fast forward to the mid-90’s and in a twist of fate, Tim Finn briefly joined Neil’s band, Crowded House, co-writing eight songs for their globally applauded Woodface album including Weather With You, Four Seasons In One Day, Chocolate Cake and It’s Only Natural. He toured internationally with Crowded House, enjoying significant international success. The Finn Brothers then collaborated on two albums of their own, while Tim’s solo output climbed to 10 albums coupled with a range of film, theatre and live performance projects. To this day Tim Finn continues to write, tour and record. Most recently he developed a moving, one man, “words & music” production entitled White Cloud which has been met with praise from both public and media in Australia and New Zealand. Tim Finn was made OBE in 1993 for his services to New Zealand music. Don’t miss this opportunity to share an intimate evening with one of the world’s great songwriters within the walls of Whelans on Saturday the 18th of July.
