‘one of the most hotly tipped acts to appear {…} so dark and alluring, haunting and rife with meaning’ – Dublinconcerts.ie ‘They produce ‘beautiful music to watch the sun go down {…} go check them out before the rest of the world falls in love with them.’ – Musician.ie Tanjier are the sound of dark electro-pop lurking in the shadows; the sound of isolation in orange dimly lit city streets. They are a trio based in Dublin, Ireland. Their upcoming release, ‘Hymn’ offers ambience, growling synths, syncopated rhythms, dreamy guitar and haunting vocals. Tanjier are modern musical story-tellers. In their lyrics, they have explored social taboos like mental health, prostitution, youth and nostalgia. ‘Hymn’ pushes them further in new directions, exploring a man lusting for a prostitute he met – even though he has a family. Tanjier have previously provided a soundtrack for people living through the ironies of the modern age; how people are becoming addicted to social media while forgetting about developing meaningful social relationships. Their previous release ‘Yu’ explores how people become attached to their vices but detached from reality. The band’s music videos have tackled other social taboos like homelessness, mental health issues, coping with grief and our growing addiction to our devices. Tanjier are Mick Killen, Tommy Buckley and Ronan Lynch. Live Dates: 03rd Sep – Electric Picnic, Hazel Wood Stage 15th Sep – Turf Music Festival, Achill Island 16th Sep – Whelan’s, Dublin PRESS QUOTES: ‘one of the most hotly tipped acts to appear {…} so dark and alluring, haunting and rife with meaning’ – Dublinconcerts.ie ‘Beautiful music to watch the sun go down {…} go check them out before the rest of the world falls in love with them.’ – Musician.ie ‘Tanjier have been impressing for some time now with their idiosyncratic take on electronica-infused alt-pop,’ – State Magazine ‘elegant performers with the perfect fusion of modern beats and haunting vocals {…} mingling both modernity and vintage sounds to create a timeless sentiment.’ – Dublinconcerts.ie ‘an incredible act’ – Kieron Black (RTÉ 2XM) ‘A great Irish band’ – Cormac battle (RTÉ 2FM) ‘A very unique contemporary electro-pop sound‘ – The Best of Music and Film
