KEKKO FORNARELLI

The tour that has brought his music to 35 countries over the world in the last five years – Europe, Asia, Australia, Russia – is a huge success everywhere. Pianist, composer and producer, he has developed a unique style, characterized by the attempt to create music to observe, more than just to listen to. A way to tell stories, emotions and situations. His music is a mellow combination of modern northern European ideas and neoclassical lyricism, filtered by his warm and extremely personal Mediterranean background. It is the attempt to create a more and more universal vision of music, able to draw jazz out of the narrow circuit of its appreciators and bringing it to the general audience. The Albums Four albums so far, Circular Thought (2005), that was critically acclaimed as one of the best Italian jazz projects of the year. A French Man in New York (2008), an innovative project taking inspiration from French pianist Michel Petrucciani published during the three years he spent in France. Room of Mirrors, (2011 Auand Records) marks the beginning of a new era in the development of a more mature conception of music. With thousands of copies sold and downloaded, the album was a huge success warmly received by the critics too, “I can’t stop listening to the CD: a fusion of Romantic classical music, modern jazz and 21st century dance rhythms, played with Italian brio from the heart” (Alison Bentley, London Jazz Blog) His last work, Outrush (Abeat), was released in March 2014. Together with his alchemic Trio featuring Giorgio Vendola on double bass and Dario Congedo on drums, Kekko Fornarelli draws his personal escape – outrush – into his own world. ROBERTO CHERILLO

https://www.facebook.com/Roberto-Cherillo-Verne-165216420211568/ Roberto Cherillo, composer and songwriter, is today considered one of the most beautiful and refined voices of Italian jazz. His music is an endless experimentation, constantly developing and looking for new ideas. The choice of the voice as the instrument best representing him has led Roberto Cherillo to come across to the most different and unusual styles and studies. From Anglo Saxon songwriting traditions to Eastern influences, like the overtone singing. His first album was published in 2009, “L’isola della pomice” (Picanto/Egea) with the Trio Omparty, and it was warmly welcomed in Italy (Award “Suoni di Confine” at MEI in Faenza). In 2011 he releases “Soffice” (Picanto Records), a duo album (piano, vocals, trumpet) with Italian trumpeter Luca Aquino: a work of unparalleled expressive force, born as a tribute to Chet Baker. The JazzIt Awards 2011 ranks the album among the ten best works of the year, and ranks Roberto Cherillo as third – after Gegè Telesforo and Mario Biondi – in the the best male voices chart. Cherillo has also composed several soundtracks for theatre plays. He has been on tour withwith Italianesi, a show of the Italian theatre company Scena Verticale, playing on stage. In 2012 he started working with pianist, composer and producer Kekko Fornarelli, playing live in more than 15 countries in just one year with the duo project Shine.
