Riot Tapes are Marty Canavan, Elaine Doyle, Darren Gorey and Chris O’Brien.

When singer Elaine first met guitarist/producer Chris, a fruitful writing partnership began. After a flurry of recording the band released their debut single Photograph.

With a line-up solidified in the form of drummer Darren Gorey and bassist Marty Canavan the band signed to Reekus Records.

Their first Reekus release, ‘Cardinal Rules’, saw the band showcasing a sound driven by infectious alternative hooks, driving beats and a standout voice.

Follow up single, the high-energy ‘Hello Insanity’ has recently been released to high acclaim with the band lining up more releases including their debut album for early 2016.

“Dublin band Riot Tapes have a thunderbastard of a new song in ‘Hello Insanity’. (Yes, thunderbastard.) It’s fast, melodic and Elaine Doyle’s vocals glisten throughout. Think ‘Heads Will Roll’ by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, it’s that good.” – Joe Donnelly, TXFM

“the entire propellent force of the songs seems to allude to a new sense of purpose from the four-piece” – TheLastMixedTape.com

“Each tune in the set is different, no filler, great breakdowns, with subtle changes in direction to keep the audience’s attention, but never trying too hard” – Festivalandgigguide.ie review of Valentia Isle Festival set

The Carrickmacross (Co. Monaghan) based musician has been working very hard on his sound in recent years and released his debut EP ‘This Way Up’ in April 2015

Barry, without a doubt has music running through his veins and for those of you lucky enough to have seen him perform will know that he brings something fresh to every live performance and always has his audience in the palm of his hand. His voice has been compared to that of Jack L and Eddie Vedder and his guitar style is somewhere between Glen Hansard & Damien Rice.

A classically trained musician who has been playing music since the age of 12, Barry Jay has perfectly carved his own style of rhythmic folk with an alternative rock edge.

Whilst gigging on home turf on a regular basis Barry can also be found playing in venues around the country including Whelans, The Iontas Theatre, Musibar (Sligo)The Mercantile, The Workmans and The Button Factory. He has played support to artists such as Paddy Casey, Brendan Mc Cahey, Sephira and has also shared the stage with Jack L and Hudson Taylor.

Barry’s debut solo release “This Way Up” – is a wonderfully crafted production which is predominantly Pop/Rock in style but has definite elements of folk and traditional with the inclusion of Fiddle player Lisa Butler on tracks such as “Judgement Day”.
