RED QUEEN CONTEST

plus guests

“With guitar playing that moves between crunchy grit and intricate acoustic picking, a wild rhythm section that are tighter than a ducks nether regions, and a pair of honey toned frontmen singing in harmony, Meath’s Red Queen Contest certainly know how to grab your attention” – HotPress

The band released their self titled debut album in October 2013 to much acclaim.

RQC release their latest single ‘One And The Same’ on Friday 4th of July. The track was mixed by L.A. based producer Al Clay whose credits include The Pixies, Blur & Stereophonics.

They play the Light Colour Sound festival which takes place July 4th & 5th at Shankhill Castle, Kilkenny.

They are also delighted to announce a show in Whelans. They play the upstairs venue on Thursday July 10th.

RQC were also recently shortlisted for the HotPress “Big Break” 2014 competition.

New label Zephyr Sounds have just added Red Queen Contest to their roster. They will release the band’s debut internationally in the coming months.

“The voices of co-vocalists Cormac O’ Keeffe and Paul Clarke compliment each other well and the combination definitely helps make Red Queen Contest feel worthy of the majestic name” – Hotpress Album Review 7/10

“This is a confident debut from the band; it will not be overly surprising if they are a much bigger name by the time their second album drops” – GoldenPlec

“Overall there’s not a bad track on the album. It’s one of the most complete, satisfying rock albums I’m likely to hear in a long time” – 2uiBestow Album Review 11/12

“Most bands are blessed to have one accomplished vocalist, but these selfish pricks kept two for themselves, sharing the lead at first, but then combining in gorgeous harmonies to thrill” – Dublin Concerts Live in Whelans Review
