PATRICK DAVIS
PATRICK DAVIS
With special guest LAUREN JENKINS Patrick Davis is a singer, songwriter, artist & storyteller originally from Camden, South Carolina who has spent the past fifteen years making his musical mark in Nashville, TN. Patrick learned the finer points of music & performance growing up in a household that not only included a talented guitar playing father, but also an extensive record collection always readily available for his absorption. At the age of 16 Patrick joined his father Rusty on stage for his first ever performance and since that initial “gig” music has been the only job Patrick has ever held. After graduating from The University of South Carolina Patrick moved to Nashville, TN to pursue a career as a published songwriter & since that move Davis has written songs as a staff writer for both EMI Music Publishing & Warner Chappell Music. Davis’ song writing credits include over 50 recorded songs by artist ranging from Jimmy Buffet, Guy Clark, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Jewel, Imelda May and many more. Most recently, Patrick co-wrote two of the songs on Imelda May’s new album “Life Love Flesh Blood” – “Call Me” and “Leave Me Lonely’’.
Recently Patrick has methodically made the transition from staff songwriter to touring artist songwriter & with this move Patrick has released four well received full length albums while also touring the US & Europe as both a headliner & support act for artist like Darius Rucker, Jewel, Vince Gill & Jerry Jeff Walker.
Besides being an accomplished solo acoustic singer, storyteller & performer Patrick has also created what he calls “Patrick Davis & MidnightChoir” which is an 11-piece band featuring horns, background singers and the usual suspects started in early 2016 from both his own artistic vision & the soundscapes of his songwriting & performing heroes Van Morrison, Lyle Lovett & Bruce Springsteen. Davis borrowed the name “Midnight Choir” from a line in one of his favourite Leonard Cohen songs “Bird On a Wire” & since his eleven-piece outfit starting playing dates in early 2016 Davis & “His Midnight Choir” have witnessed growing congregations.
In October of 2017 PD will be releasing a new EP followed by a tour that will take him to listening rooms, theatres & performance halls in the US & beyond.
