Slapping Boys Bottoms are a five piece collective based in Dublin and Madrid. The members consist of some of the minds behind exhibitions and projects such as Folklore, Boon, Acid Granny and Kurb Junki. The five minds of Slapping Boys Bottoms make danceable, improvised music that is highly experimental.
Some of the members have degrees in jazz and others are completely self taught musicians with backgrounds in visual arts and street performance. Each member of the collective plays to their strengths to create a unique and rapidly changing atmosphere. The sound can vary from rhythms rooted in hip hop and funk to more abstract compositions, ambient blankets of audio and heavy punk inspired soundscapes.
The collective will be releasing a mixtape on the night.
