ORCHID COLLECTIVE

https://www.facebook.com/orchidcollectiveband https://orchidcollectivemusic.bandcamp.com/ Orchid Collective, based in Dublin, have been gigging relentlessly throughout Ireland and have worked tirelessly creating a fresh and exciting live show for their growing audience. Mixing a combination of vocal harmonies and ambient soundscapes to create a unique approach on their alternative folk genre. Starting 2015 as one of Whelan’s ones to watch and releasing debut single ‘Figure It Out’ in March, it has been a great year so far. Festival appearances at Glasgowbury, Knockanstockan, Rhythm and Roots, Foyle Folk Festival in Derry sharing the same bill as the likes of And So I Watch you from Afar, In Their Thousands, the Hot Sprockets and supporting Boston based alt -folk quartet Mutual benefit in the Workman’s Club, it is an exciting time in the Orchid Collective camp! — — — — —

WE WERE GIANTS

https://www.facebook.com/WWGMusic https://weweregiants.bandcamp.com We Were Giants are a Dublin band quoted as a ‘sky-scraping indie rock band with an anthemic touch’. Made up of brothers Colm and Stephen O’Loughlin with close friends Danny Farrelly and Jason Maleney, We Were Giants have a huge sound that swells from tenderly soft to bone-crushingly loud. In December 2014, they released their current single All I Want to great critical acclaim, attracting considerable airplay including the new track of the week for Colm O’Sullivan on Today FM, new Irish track of the week with Dara Quilty on 98FM and the recommended playlist for RTÉ. The band are lined up to record their next single with acclaimed Scottish producer Tony Doogan (Belle and Sebastian, Mogwai) set for release later in the year. Their first EP, ‘part one’ was recorded and mixed in their kitchen. Stand out tracks, ‘She Said’ and ‘Vampires’ received by some of Ireland’s top radio presenters including Dave Fanning, Rick O’Shea, John Barker and Cathal Funge. After completing a tour of Germany in summer 2013 which included a headline slot on the white stage at the Dithmarscher Rockfestival in Marne and played YouBloom Dublin, Indie Week Ireland and FOCUS Wales Festival. “WOW! What a tune!!!” – Rob O’Connor, Beat 102-103 “This is just a lovely, lovely track, big, big production, very, very lush…” – Rigsy, Across The Line, BBC “I really like this. It’s kind of difficult to do something that melodic and heartfelt and lush…” – Chris Jones, Across The Line, BBC “WOW!
