Mick Thomas, formerly of the band Weddings Parties Anything (WPA), has been playing solo in recent years, albeit regularly with his old WPA colleague, Mark “Squeezebox Wally” Wallace on piano accordion.
Last year Mick played with Lisa O’Neill and Billy Bragg as part of the award-winning Irish-Australian documentary Death or Liberty – about Irish rebels transported as convicts to Australia that was shown on TG4 – http://tilefilms.ie/productions/death-or-liberty/ and https://www.roarfilm.com.au/projects/death-or-liberty/.
In March 2017, Mick released a compilation album covering the best of his solo work post WPA as well as having a book published that is based around these songs.
To coincide with this release, Mick will be touring worldwide this year and will be visiting Ireland in October 2017.
