London born and Irish bred, Maverick Sabre will play Whelan’s for the first time on Monday, 31 October.
Maverick Sabre is one of the most exciting and unique voices to emerge from the current UK music scene.
The hip hop influenced soulful folk artist has had an astonishing rise in the music world over the last 12 months, with a number of collaborations most notably with Chase & Status and Professor Green. It was Plan B who first discovered Maverick Sabre and has since taken him under his wing, persuading him to make the move from Co.Wexford to London to pursue his music career. The 21 year old has gone from strength to strength, with support slots for Cee-Lo Green and hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg, He has proven he can cut it on his own with highly praised sets at SXSW, Glastonbury, Bestival and Oxegen. Maverick also made a respected appearance on the Jools Holland Show.
Maverick Sabre has achieved a lot and is still only putting the finishing touches to his hugely anticipated debut album which is due out later this year. See him first at Whelan’s, Monday 31 October. Check out his latest single ‘Let Me Go’
