Aiken Promotions are proud to announce that Jessie Buckley live at Whelans, 29th June have sold out in minutes this morning. Jessie will perform songs from Wild Rose soundtrack for the first time in Dublin. After delighting audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, BAFTA Rising star nominee Jessie Buckley, one of the fastest rising actors in cinema, looks set to take the music world by storm as the star and voice of the gritty, inspirational and heart-warming film WILD ROSE. Making a stop off at Dublin’s Whelans, 29th June. The Original Soundtrack album was released the same day as the hugely acclaimed film hits the Irish screens. Six of the powerful, rousing and emotive songs which occupy the heart of this wonderful film were co-written by the film’s BAFTA winning writer Nicole Taylor and Buckley, who performs throughout with enormous passion, sincerity and genuine vocal prowess. The writing and recording experience was completely new to Jessie who found the experience so rewarding that she has since performed the songs live and will be playing shows with full band following the release of the film.  Other featured tracks on the album include rousing versions of the Primal Scream song “Country Girl” and legendary country star Emmylou Harris’s composition, “Born To Run”. Starring alongside Julie Walters and Sophie Okonedo, the Irish born Buckley plays Rose-Lynn Harlan, a single mother of two, fresh out of prison, bursting with raw talent, charisma and cheek. Her dream is to leave Glasgow for Nashville to make it as a country star. Directed by BAFTA nominee Tom Harper (The Scouting Book For Boys), produced by BAFTA nominee Faye Ward (Stan & Ollie) and written by BAFTA award-winning writer Nicole Taylor (The C Word), WILD ROSE is an uplifting story with an original soundtrack about family, dreams and reality, and three chords and the truth. Rose-Lynn’s mum Marion (Julie Walters) has had a bellyful of Rose-Lynn’s Nashville nonsense. Forced to take responsibility, Rose-Lynn gets a cleaning job, only to find an unlikely champion in the middle-class lady of the house (Sophie Okonedo). RADA graduate Buckley’s TV performances include the role of Princess Marya in BBC hit-adaptation of Tolstoy’s epic novel “WAR AND PEACE” and starring opposite Tom Hardy in historic drama series “TABOO”. This April she will be seen in the HBO / Channel 4 series “CHERNOBYL” alongside Emily Watson. In 2018 Jessie had her first lead role in Michael Pearce’s critically acclaimed film “BEAST”, co-starring with Johnny Flynn. The film opened to rave reviews and Jessie won the most promising newcomer award at the British Independent Film Awards. 2019 promises to be a very busy year for Buckley with co-starring roles alongside Renee Zellweger in Judy garland biopic “Judy” and “The Voyage Of Doctor Dolittle” alongside Robert Downey Jr.
