Irish supergroup DFF are proud to present an end of year Christmas show on Sunday 7th December in Whelans to round off what’s been a rollercoaster first year for the band.

The 7-piece ensemble led by Dave Flynn (of the Clare Memory Orchestra) burst onto the scene in April of this year with their critically-lauded debut album Pouric Songs, along with a 7 day Irish tour and appearances on RTÉ’s The Works, the Down With Jazz Festival, and a special invitation to perform at the Áras An Uachtaráin by President Michael D. Higgins, no less.

The band features 7 of the most accomplished musicians Ireland has to offer, featuring Dave Flynn on vocals, guitar and more, Vyvienne Long on vocals and cello, Niwel Tsumbu on guitar, Aidan “Nardo” Dunphy and Cion O’Callaghan on drums and percussion, Ciarán “Swifty” Swift on guitar, and Dan Bodwell on double bass. Unfortunately Dan is not available for the gig so will be replaced by the venerable Neil O’Loghlen.

Just have a read of the list of bands and artists these 7 wonderful musicians have worked with and you’ll know this is going to be something very special ::

The Clare Memory Orchestra, Donal Dineen, The Duke Special, Ensemble Ériu, Julie Feeney, Herbie Hancock, Lisa Hannigan, Martin Hayes, Shane McGowan, Martin O’Connor, Declan O’Rourke, Tommy Peoples, Fionn Regan, Damien Rice, the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, the RTÉ National Concert Orchestra, Louis Stewart, and many more.

Enough said.

Support comes from Michelle Owens who will also join the band for their set.
