Ladies and gentlemen
It is our absolute privilege and delight to introduce you to Croupier.
For those of you who don’t know, Croupier are a quintet from Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Their passionate and occasionally explosive sound is unique, quite like bicycle kicks over hot coals but tempered by intelligent structure and delicate musicianship.
Croupier incorporate broad influences, from Talk Talk to The Redneck Manifesto to Liars to Thelonious Monk (yes we did just say that!), into one collaborative musical effort that defines their uniqueness. Consisting of Charlie Mooney (guitar/vocals), Harry Burton (keyboard/piano/vocals), Niall O’Kelly (drums), Oisín Murphy (vocals/guitar) and Rob Reid (bass), Croupier are five friends with differing musical backgrounds, foregrounds and convictions, come together in shared purpose: to make music which speaks of themselves and, hopefully, speaks to you.
Recorded in the Hive Studios by Eoin Whitfield and James Eager and mastered by TJ Lipple (Adebisi Shank, MGMT, Holy Ghost, Not Squares), Croupier’s self titled debut album promises to invigorate, yet charm you and if we are betting people we guarantee you this is one track that will fuel your need for proper Indie rock music this summer.
Croupier shall be released on August 24th 2012 on Eleven Eleven and the band shall launch their album in Whelan’s on the same date with very special guests Before Machines & Simon Bird.
