RED DANCERS COMETH

PRIVADO

Whelanslive is proud to present a celebration of new Irish music. Tuesday the 3rd of April will see the upstairs venue in Whelans playing host to a series of the best of new music this country has to offer each week. Every Tuesday night will see three hand-picked bands showcase their originality, performance and amazingly fresh songwriting skills.  It is a great opportunity to see the next round of Irelands unsung and unsigned.   Red Dancers Cometh Red Dancers Cometh are a 3 piece rock band from Dublin. They have recently completed recording their 11 track self-titled debut album. Produced by Stephen Farrell and mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound, New York, due for release in 2012. Red Dancers Cometh have received air play on Nova, Phantom, 2fm, DublinCityFm, BBC Radio 1 Northern Ireland, NearFm & LiffeySoundFm.  They recorded a 2fm Hegarty session, first aired on the 17th Oct 2011 Dan Hegarty’s 2012 preview“If you’re one of those people that think that there is too much pleasant sounding music around right now, then take a listen to Red Dancers Cometh. Alt Rock is a fairly broad description, but if you were to narrow it down, RDC sit somewhere between Jane’s Addiction, Nine Inch Nails and Placebo. Expect to hear their debut album in mid 2012.”    Red Dancers Cometh also featured on Cormac Battle’s ‘Border Crossing’ spot on BBC Radio 1’s ‘Introducing’ show. Live studio sessions on Radio Nova’s Locals Only and The Near FM Sessions   Privado are a 4 piece rock band from east coast of Ireland – its rock music, but not as you know it. Formed over 3 years ago from the ashes of other bands, guitarist Daire along with bassist Derek and drummer Niam, did some heavy auditioning before teaming up with the talented Amy to give Privado a sound that could not be heard elsewhere. With varied influences and backgrounds from technology to musical theatre, Privado pump out a solid rock sound mixed with both acoustic and synth elements. Following on from successful gigs in venues from Dublin’s “Button Factory” to smashing headlines in Dundalk’s “The Spirit Store”, Privado currently are recording promos which will be available soon for free download & press use – Privado have set about bringing the world their unique sound which appeals to a wide and varied audience…The future is bright – the future is Privado…     Chocolate Orange In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth but the earth was without form and void. Several millions years later all this changed when the meeting of Terry, Paddy, Keds and Deece equated to a ‘Big Bang’ of musical minds. The earth rejoiced…. CHOCOLATE ORANGE, a Dublin based four-piece with a sound that has drawn from many influences: blues, country, rock and indie are all mingled together in a diverse set, all the while founded on the bedrock of singer Terry and his powerful vocal style. The stomping blues driven ‘Dementia’, beer-swilling story-time of ‘Walk of Shame’ and the warmth of ‘The Wanderer’ with its country licks and hootenanny finish, all endear themselves with their individuality and sit comfortable in a diverse set at the same time. Since their first gig in Whelans January 2010, this band have played their uplifting set to the likes of The Village, The Sugar Club, Crawdaddy and Sweeney’s and festivals such asVantastival and No Place Like Dome. In a world of skulking teenagers hiding behind their quiffs and looking generally disinterested, Chocolate Orange chuckle, banter and slap the spoilt face of introverted bands just ‘going through the motions’. Cheer up everyone… Chocolate Orange are in town!
