ANDREW BIRD

INVINCIBLE

Sun, 17/10/2021

Whelan’s Main Venue

Following a successful debut tour culminating at The Leicester Square Theatre and a recording of a sold out hometown gig, Andrew is coming to Dublin with a brand new show.

“Birdie supported me on my arena tour and made me laugh every night. Truly an excellent comedian.” Michael McIntyre

Riding a wave of success after supporting Michael McIntyre on the UK leg of his Big World Tour, including sell out shows at the O2 and Wembley, Andrew will be taking to the stage at Whelan’s on 17th October on his UK & Irish Tour: Invincible.

As well as supporting Michael McIntyre he has also supported Rob Brydon, John Bishop was hand-picked by American Brian Regan for his only UK show and in July supported Russell Howard at Bristol City’s Football Stadium. He has written for TV shows 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier, and Lee Mack’s Duck Quacks Don’t Echo. He has his own podcast where he chats to comedians about music called “A Funny Taste in Music”.

“Comedy gold…Bird’s going to be a big star, catch him close-up now” The Scotsman

After the traumatic event of seeing revered, legendary comedian Ian Cognito literally die on stage of a heart attack in front of him and the fall out making global news, it’s hard to take anything seriously.

“A great storyteller, funny, likeable and effortless” Time Out

Brutally honest stand-up with free flowing stories and opinions on Prince Andrew, how to solve racism in football and being possibly the only comedian who can talk about flying on a private plane without being hated for it.

“Very punctual” Rob Brydon

Notes to Editor

Andrew grew up in a small town in Northants moved to London and worked in a pub; married a Slovakian girl, moved back to a small town and had children. He thought when he was younger he and the people he looked up to were Invincible. After single handily homeschooling two children for six months, disposing of a dead pet chicken and having to buy a new mattress that is very much not the case.

“Funny as hell” Rhod Gilbert
