They’re set to productions (crafted with Ghostpoet / Bear’s Den collaborator Kristofer Harris) which have the sophistication to stand tall alongside established artists, while the instrumentation – often polished versions of her bedroom recordings – give them a human character.
Traces of Aislinn’s eclectic musical interests inform everything she does without being obvious touchstones. There’s a touch of the folky singer-songwriter, somewhere between Bon Iver and Paul Simon, but she also evokes the grungey guitar attack of Warpaint and the energy of Temper Trap. Equally important is her love of electronic sounds with “elements of patterns and metronomic repetition” worming their way into her music after she became enamoured with Glasgow’s underground techno, electro and Italo disco scenes.
