Dublin July 13th – Guilty Optics take the stage in Whelan’s upstairs as one of half a dozen bands to raise some funds for their forth coming album. The trio have been busy writing the past few months and are about to enter the studio in September to record their first full length album with San Diego producer/engineer Ben Moore (Pinback, Black Heart Procession, Hot Snakes & Rocket From The Crypt).

To aid this process they have put together a sex-laden line-up for their show on the 13 July to help with the cash monies regrettably necessary for recording.

Guilty Optics formed in 2009. Two songs were included on the Richter Collective Singles Club with the bands Bats & Hands up Who Wants to Die.

In 2010 they released a split 7” with the band C!ties on Out On A Limb records. The song was “White Teeth”  https://soundcloud.com/guiltyoptics/white-teeth

Aug 2012 saw the first show in nearly 2 years and with a new line up with Richie O Reilly (Crayonsmith/Koalacord) on Bass and Lewis Hedigan (Elk/Owensie).

The wonderful Talkcha Vol 3 compilation released in June will give people a taste of what’s in store with the band contributing the song “So Many Romances” to the 3rd in a fantastic series of releases from the collective. https://soundcloud.com/#guiltyoptics/so-many-romances

Joining them on what will be an incredible night of rock are:

Jogging:

https://www.facebook.com/Joggingband

Jogging awakened in 2009 and quickly gained a formidable live reputation. They have toured Ireland and the UK, sharing the stage with Wire, Polvo, Ponytail, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and Themselves amongst others. Jogging’s music has been described as “an intense, raw blend of post-hardcore and gutsy indie rock”.

Live Fast Die:

Punk Rock so original you can’t put a label on it.

Featuring members of Abaddon incarnate, Putrefaction and Wizards of Firetop Mountain.

The Run Ons:

https://www.facebook.com/TheRunOns

Two guitars, a bass, one drum kit and a pair of microphones

Formed as a tribute to record collections (remember them? like a Spotify playlist but harder to carry) stocked with Big Star, Dinosaur Jr, Pavement too many Matador and Sub Pop albums to list and anything recorded by Mitch Easter, The Run On’s feature members of Large Mound, Pantone247 and The Objectorz and passionatly believe that big chords through big muff’s into big amps make things better. Makes sense, right?

Squarehead:

A mix of surf-pop harmonies, old school rock ‘n’ roll rhythms and guitar jangles, Squarehead draw inspiration from the melodies of The Beach Boys and Portland’s The Wipers. The album, results in a modern take on classic pop where lyrics about girls and good-time sentiments combine with singalong hooks to produce something fresh and exuberant away from classic pop pastiche.
