Groove Music Festival is delighted to be working with the legendary Whelan’s team for their festival debut!

Running for nearly 25 years, the Wexford Street stalwart, is taking their much loved venue atmosphere outdoors to the magnificent setting of Killruddery House and Gardens for the debut Groove Festival this July. The word legendary cannot be used enough about Whelan’s, the venue has seen the likes of David Gray, Noah and the Whale and Jeff Buckley grace its stages over an amazing history.

Whelan’s Live Stage at Groove is an eclectic mix of acts to reflect the diversity of music styles that play in Whelan’s week in, week out.

One of the most important aspects of Whelan’s has been its support of Irish musical talent. The line up chosen for Groove reflects some more established Whelan’s favourites with some new artists that will be filling Whelan’s in years to come!

An added dimension to Whelan’s presence is the inclusion of its weekly silent disco CIUNAS in the idyllic hedge enclosed mini amphitheatre on site. This takes place in Whelan’s every Wednesday night with people choosing from two djs at the flick of a switch on their headphones. Sure to be a (quiet) hit with both young and not so….

Over the weekend the Whelan’s team are planning a celebration of their history at Groove. The Whelan’s live stage tent will be decorated with pictures of acts who have graced the stage in its almost 25 years……
