21 year old Dubliner Gavin James, a singer songwriter in the Ray Lamontagne / Damien Rice mould, began to play guitar aged eight. After leaving secondary school, James gigged around Dublin’s Temple Bar leading him to write his own tracks, and beginning to get himself heard.

Gavin’s talent comes from his mother side of the family as his great, great grandparents we both famous Irish opera singers and had their own album released in the early 1900’s. Since signing his record deal on his 21st Birthday, Gavin has been busy by selling out his first headline show at The Grand Social Dublin and then went onto opened for Ryan Sheridan at The Olympia. He supported Ingrid Michaelson at her sell out Irish & UK tour this month and he supported Nouvelle Vague on their Irish tour in August and opened for Marina & the Diamonds at the Olympia Theatre. Gavin was also invited to perform at this year’s Worldwide Radio Summit in LA which ultimately led to him signing his record deal with Believe Recordings, Gavin now joins Believe’s growing roster including fellow Irish singer/songwriter James Vincent McMorrow.

He also performed at Indiependence Festival & Electric Picnic and earlier this summer he supported ‘Heathers’ on their Irish tour as well as performing at the Hard Working Class Hero Festival with reviewing his performance as………..”His voice is absolutely astounding”….”One of the highlights of the weekend by a mile”.

His EP was released on Nov 2nd and entered the Irish iTunes album chart at No.1 ahead of Robbie Williams new album and Mercury Music Prize Winners Alt-J his lead single “Say Hello” continues to climb the Irish radio charts top 30. His album will be recorded later this year with a release date due in 2013.
