First Day Lions are an Indie-Rock band created by childhood best friends Adam Cunningham and Adrian Rabbitte. With inspirations taken from The Beatles, Pink Floyd & Queen, First Day Lions capture their stories and tell them in fresh yet nostalgic ways, blowing new wind to the indie scene.

Adam and Adrian bring with them a life of performing and musicianship delivering a unique yet unforgettable sound. Now they’ve formed a five piece band that’ll knock your socks off, flaunting some of the finest talent the country has to offer! Fresh off supporting Aslan and Paddy Casey, travelling with their music to fans across Europe, and receiving indie awards for performance and writing, First Day Lions have come to the attention of many. Swinging from the support of their fans they continue to define their style in the indie-rock scene. With exciting new releases waiting around the corner, now is the perfect time to come join the pride!

But “what new releases?” you may ask. Well that brings us to Whelans on October 27th, the bank holiday Sunday. The Lions are releasing they’re highly anticipated debut album ‘TIME’, with a musical journey inspired by the likes of ‘The Wall’ by Pink Floyd and ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ by The Beatles. A beginning, middle and end. A story. Something that defined a way of expressing music yet became forgotten over time with today’s fast paced music industry. And what better way to celebrate this new yet tried-and-true emergence than with a night of unforgettable music in one of the most well recognised music venues in the country!

The upstairs doors open at 8pm with music starting at 8:30pm from the up-and-coming, crowd pleasing and always burning talent – Nathan Mac. First Day Lions will then take to the stage performing their debut album live for the first time in its entirety, dressed with covers that make you shake and other Lion originals that have helped them gain their growing fan base across the globe!

Admission at the door on the night is €10 but if you fancy guaranteeing yourself a place and saving that little bit, head over to and book your tickets online for only €8.50. And if you want the full treatment then follow First Day Lions across their social media platforms for your chance to win VIP tickets with a free glass of bubbles on the night!

We’ll see you there!
