Dublin Bowie Festival present
CLASSIC ALBUMS AT 50:
THE SALTY DOG NO STARS
perform
ZIGGY STARDUST & TRANSFORMER
Sun 24th Apr 2022
Whelan’s Main Venue
Two of the greatest albums ever made turn 50 this year and we are delighted to present a very special concert with the Salty Dog No Stars (the house band of the infamous Salty Dog stage at the Electric Picnic) performing both albums in their entirety. Ziggy Stardust is of course the album that made Bowie a global superstar but he also co-produced (with his Spiders From Mars cohort Mick Ronson) Lou Reed’s stunning Transformer album, a record that mined the seedy underbelly of New York social life in 1972 and one that also features Bowie’s old sax tutor Ronnie Ross on the wonderful Walk On The Wild Side. The No Stars are the closest we have to a supergroup in this country, featuring brilliant musicians from many of our best acts so this is a show not to be missed!
