The Franklin Electric is a Montreal-based indie folk project led by singer-songwriter and Producer Jon Matte. Evolving from a collective of friends and musicians, the project now captivates audiences worldwide with its intimate and emotive sound.
Jon’s lyrics explore self-discovery, relationships, and the intricacies of the human experience. With a Juno nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2019 and an ADISQ nomination for Anglophone Performance of the Year in 2024, their impact continues to grow. After releasing Oh Brother, in 2023, a very personal collection of songs most where Jon delves into his relationship with his brother while raising awareness about mental health issues.
In August 2024, The Franklin Electric unveiled Victory Songs (Vol. 1), an EP that grapples with the themes of choices and the realities of winning and losing. Looking ahead, they are set to release the full album titled Victory Songs in May 2025, promising to further enrich their narrative-driven sound. With each release, The Franklin Electric invites fans on a profound and resonant musical journey.
