TAYLOR BYRNE

Whelan’s Upstairs • Wed 4th Oct 2023
Taylor Byrne is a multi-instrumental singer/songwriter based in Dublin, Ireland, and frontman of the Franco-Irish ensemble, The Celtic Social Club. Having toured extensively across France and England with the aforementioned group, performing at notable festivals such as Beautiful Days and Les Vieilles Charrues, the 22-year-old looks to embark on a fruitful solo venture.
Following the release of his ‘well crafted, catchy, and wonderfully emotive’ debut, Flashback Polaroid; Byrne returns with his sophomore single, Alexandra. Written after hearing of a close friend’s breakup, Alexandra is a heartwarming, joyous tribute to platonic love in the aftermath of romantic turbulence; a sonic shoulder to cry, or laugh, on and a reminder to treasure those who have been, and always will be, ‘right by your side.’
When he is not strolling through the cobbled streets of Dublin City, Byrne can be found reading poetry in Stephens’ Green, swimming in the ‘scrotumtightening sea’, or chewing the ears off strangers in dingy smoking areas.
