Short Back & Sides are a four-piece, indie-rock band from the West of Ireland, based in Dublin. The band is comprised of Westport natives, front person and rhythm guitar player Rosa Kinsella, bass player Aodh McGinley, drummer Seán McGinley and Galway grown, lead guitar and synth player, Ciarán Hearns. Having met in college, they were instantly drawn to each other’s shared interest in using jazz inspired chord progressions and a unique use of timing and rhythm to create a sophisticated yet accessible alt pop sound.
Short Back & Sides began to gain traction at their debut show in McGing’s, Westport in the summer of 2019, developing their fanbase whilst playing prestigious Dublin venues such as Whelan’s, The Workman’s Club, The Grand Social and The Button Factory with their dynamic and interactive performances, that never fail to engage. As well as their live sound, the band have been diligently working on the release of their first single “Park” which will be available on all streaming platforms on the 19th of August.
