Little Whelan’s • Wed 8th April 2026
Hailed by Hot Press magazine as “an inventive guitarist and lyricist everywhere from the US and Brazil to Italy and India”, Ronan Furlong makes a welcome debut in Whelan’s on 8 April.
As one of Ireland’s most interesting contemporary guitarists and singer-songwriters, Ronan brings a baroque, folk vibe to an eclectic set covering everything from intricate Celtic and Iberian influenced pieces to eastern styled anthems and powerful ballads.
A celebrated recording artist – four of his albums appeared in the Hot Press top twenty folk albums of the year – as a live performer Ronan combines raw energy with soulful depth.
All of the singles from Ronan’s 2025 album Elysium received global airplay and glowing international reviews.
“Remarkable craftsmanship displayed by an artist of authentic talent” (Euphony.com, Media, USA)
“Delicate acoustic guitar lines and haunting lyrics create an intimate and immersive listening experience” (Troca Fitas, Media, Brazil)
“Furlong is an assured and engaging solo performer with an expressive, flexible voice and dextrous guitar playing.” (Jackie Hayden)
