Quasi Announces U.K. And European Headlining Shows – In Support Of Breaking The Balls Of History
Their Forthcoming New Album – https://ffm.to/breakingtheballsofhistory Available February 10th, 2023 Worldwide From Sub Pop

Breaking the Balls of History will be available on CD/LP/CS/DSPs. It features twelve-tracks produced by Quasi and John Goodmanson (Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, Unwound, Treepeople, Team Dresch) at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, engineered and mixed by Goodmanson, and mastered by Bill Skibbe at Third Man Mastering.

Quasi’s Breaking the Balls of History, featuring the official videos for “Nowheresville,” “Doomscrollers” and “Queen of Ears,” is seeing early praise from the likes of Uncut, who rave, ““Sam Coomes’ songs are all killer – melodic and misanthropic in equal measure – from the Covid chronicles of “Doomscrollers” and the proggy “Gravity” to the downhill tumble of “Riots & Jokes”; Janet Weiss once again proves herself to be a fine vocal foil, and perhaps the greatest rock drummer alive (9/10).” Meanwhile, MOJO says, “With superb tenth album…the light rightfully swings back onto Quasi’s abundant gifts (★★★★).” Breaking the Balls of History also earned placement on “Most Anticipated of 2023” lists from the likes of Brooklyn Vegan (Indie Basement), Inside Hook, PASTE, Pitchfork, and Treble.

Breaking the Balls of History can be preordered now from Sub Pop. LP preorders from megamart.subpop.com and select independent retailers in North America, the UK, and Europe will receive the limited Loser edition on pink vinyl.

What people are saying about Quasi:
“Breaking the Balls of History is a gritty rendering of Quasi’s classic garage sound, spearheaded by the blistering single “Nowheresville,” serving as a long-awaited return to form for the band—who bring a triumphant masterclass to the forefront of Sub Pop’s modern catalog 10 years after their last record, Mole City.” [“The 33 Most Anticipated Releases of 2023”] – PASTE

“[Queen Of Ears] Has all the Quasi earmarks: pointed lyrics, jagged melodies, skronky organ, bashing drums, and Sam & Janet’s distinctive harmonies.” – Brooklyn Vegan

“Lead single “Queen Of Ears” finds Coomes and Weiss bashing away on their keyboard and drums, respectively, lending a raw edge to an otherwise bright and poppy song. The backing vocals are clutch on this one.” – Stereogum

“A punchy blend of state-of-things stream of consciousness and melodic brightness signals the much-awaited return of Pacific Northwest legends Quasi.” – Shindig!
