The Band formed in January 2025,consisting of Alan Boyle on Guitar,Bass,loops,Vocals special effects, and Takumi on Guitar Drums ,keyboards, Vocals,also Ciarian Smithfield on Drums and saxophone
OxymoranZen preforms live spontaneous compositions ,there are no pre written songs,all the music is composed on the night spontaneously with loops and effects added , the band are inspired by Damo Suzuki former member of German Band CAN , Alan was a personal friend of Damos and they toured in the UK with the Damo Suzuki and his sound carrier Band.The music is experimental but has many influences including Punk,Jazz, blues, rock, funk.
Takumi is a Multi- instrumentalist, philosopher-poet and vintage record collector, Takumi is studying philosophy in Japan and has played in the Japanese experimental rock scene,Ciaran Smithfield is an experienced multi-instrumentalist and music teacher.
