Wayne Soper first emerged as a formidable voice in the Irish rock scene as the frontman of The Hot Sprockets, releasing three albums from 2011 up to 2019 gaining Irish radio play and touring extensively.
Midnight Wayne began as a project to gain experience as a home producer, building a home studio and learning to write,
record and produce all at once, finding a flow state to express his art.
His songs and productions introduced audiences to a lo-fi psychedelic bedroom sound that still has the guitar rock
Edge of his Sprockets past, a few singles and two EPs “transcend” and “ouroboros” followed with festival slots and a sold out show in workman’s basement In 2024.
This October see’s him releasing a full length debut album – First Past Life -getting help from his band members in the studio. This expansive collection of songs, not held down by one sound but exploring his lo-fi studio production to the limits, themes of introversion, becoming a father and social unrest run through the record.
