Kurt Rosenwinkel and Mark Turner are arguably the most influential jazz musicians in the last 20 years. Both their compositions and improvisation paved a new path in contemporary jazz and the mark they have left on the music can be heard in today’s generation of jazz musicians. This night will celebrate the songs composed by Rosenwinkel and Turner as well as the music that they helped influence. The concert will feature Chris Guilfoyle on Guitar, Barry Donohue on bass, and Matthew Jacobson on drums who form the rhythm section of the critically acclaimed band Umbra, alongside Steve Welsh on saxophone, the newest and very exciting addition to the Irish jazz scene.
