Known for his euphoric live performances, deep and infectious music, and his extraordinary work ethic, Luke Clerkin is an artist to be reckoned with. Over the course of his career he has appeared at such festivals as Electric Picnic, All Together Now, Body & Soul, Stendhal and Edinburgh Free Fringe, and he has headlined venues all over Ireland including Whelan’s, The Workman’s Club, The Cobblestone, Hole in the Wall Kilkenny, and John Lee’s in Tullamore. Luke has also toured Germany on multiple occasions and he has also toured Ireland with The Circle Sessions and Cycle Against Suicide.
As a two-time winner of the Sports and Cultural Council songwriting competition, Luke has been widely featured on national radio and television. His work has caught the attention of major outlets like Hot Press, RTÉ, Indie Buddie, and Golden Plec. His songs have received airplay on RTÉ Radio One, BBC Northern Ireland, Spin 1038, Spin South West, KCLR, FM104, and Today FM, among others. His chart and streaming successes include topping the Irish Singer-Songwriter Charts multiple times and being featured on Spotify’s Editorial Playlist ‘A Breath of Fresh Eire.’
Following sold out shows in London and Dublin in 2023, 2024 has been a productive year for Luke in terms of music, as he has finally finished recording his debut album ‘Orpheus’ which is due for release in January 2024. He has once again featured at Electric Picnic, and his main stage performance at The Work’s Festival in Dublin saw him debut an amazing full band show. Luke came in second place at the renowned Sofia Songwriter Festival Songwriting Competition in Bulgaria in October, where he showcased his music and represented Ireland against songwriters from all over Europe.
