Singular Artists proudly present Lucy Rose for two headline shows in Whelan’s, Dublin on 14 July 2026 and Monroe’s, Galway (Galway International Arts Festival) on 15 July 2026 – with support from Sam Eagle.
British songwriter Lucy Rose returns to Ireland this summer for two special live performances, bringing her deeply personal and newly re-energised work to audiences in Dublin and Galway.
Lucy Rose’s return to the stage follows one of the most challenging and transformative periods of her life. After the release of her critically acclaimed 2019 album No Words Left, which culminated in a sold-out performance at London’s Barbican, Rose planned a period of rest following years of relentless touring, but was instead met with a rare and life-altering diagnosis.
“Five weeks after I gave birth to Otis, I started getting back pain… until one night, whilst lifting him, my back went.”
An eventual MRI scan revealed eight fractured vertebrae caused by pregnancy-associated osteoporosis, a condition affecting fewer than 1 in 100,000 women, leaving her unable to carry out everyday tasks with doctors unable to guarantee recovery.
“None of the doctors could guarantee I would have the life I used to have back… Nobody knew anything, really.”
Recovery came gradually, aided by hydrotherapy that, in Rose’s words, “really changed my life.” As her physical strength returned, so too did her connection to music.
“My dreams were huge and tiny at the same time… I could only really play five minutes at a time, but enough to play a song and I started to write again.”
What followed was a creative reawakening that reshaped her relationship with songwriting, including time spent working with Logic and recording at Paul Weller’s studio, embracing a more open and instinctive creative process.
“The escapism I needed was to feel uplifted and reinvigorated, and to feel hope rather than despair.”
This Ain’t The Way You Go Out is an album constructed from the ashes of despair, nurturing the tiniest of green shoots and giving life to something that had looked otherwise spent. It’s a new era for Lucy, and an era in its purest, truest sense. An artist re-awakening herself to the power of music, and having a lot of fun in the process of its discovery and delivery.
These Irish dates offer a chance to experience Lucy Rose in a live setting that reflects both the intimacy and renewed energy of her music.
