JULIE JAY: SMIDIRÍNÍ

plus support

Little Whelan’s • Sun 9th February 2025

Tar éis rith díolta amach ag Dublin Fringe tá fuirseoir Julie Jay (Tacaíocht Joanne Mc Nally, Tommy Tiernan, Flo and Joan) thar nais le seó grinn as Ghaoluinn den chéad uair riamh, agus tá sé an-greannmhar ar fad (fiú más sí féin atá á rá). ‘Smidiríní’ is ainm don seó agus tá an-chuid le rá aici:

Thosaigh Julie ar coinneáil dialann ach is beag idir iontráil dialainne agus scriosliosta. Tá Julie ar bís a bheith amach as an tigh ach ní bheidh sí ag fanacht timpeall ina dhiaidh an seó mar tá sí parcáilte ar buí dúbailte lasmuigh is an-seans go bhfuil leanbh nó dhó ann leis.

Is maim déagórach í Julie do daichead bliain d’aois, ach cé atá ag comhaireamh? Sa seó seo beidh Julie ag caint fé Center Parcs, toisc amháin go gceapfar gur duine rachmais í. Toipicí eile san áireamh: grá gan chúiteamh (ach sin go leor fé Pat Kenny) tuismitheoir píoráideach agus caidrimh fad téarmach lena fear céile i láthair na huaire agus a babaí daidí (tá súil againn) Fred.

Ceannaigh ticéid más é do thoil é mar is ise an fuirseoir is rathúla is bochta in Eirinn (brón orm Dara O’Briain, ach ní féidir gach ceann a bhuachaint)

After her sellout run at Dublin Fringe comedian Julie Jay is back with a show as Ghaeilge for the first time ever, and it is very funny (even if she does say so herself). ‘Smidiríní’ is the name
Of the show and she has a lot to say:

Julie has started to keep a journal but it’s a fine line between a journal entry and a hit-list. Julie’s delighted to be out of the house but she won’t be hanging around after as she’s parked on a double yellow outside and there’s a strong chance there could be a child or two there also.

Julie is a teenage mom of 40, but who’s counting? In this show Julie will be talking about Center Parcs, solely so she is considered a person of wealth. Other topics will include unrequited love (but that’s enough about Pat Kenny), a pirate parent and long-term relationships with her current husband and baby daddy (we hope) Fred.

Please buy a ticket as she is the most successful, poorest comedian in Ireland (sorry Dara o’Briain, but you can’t win them all).
