Jazz in Whelan’s is an exciting new series which will run for 5 weeks, every Tuesday, from November 15th to December 13th in Little Whelan’s.

Blue Note is unquestionably the most iconic jazz label in the history of the music and the groove-laden repertoire that emanated from the recordings continues to dominate concert, radio and online playlists. Ronan Guilfoyle, one of Ireland’s most renowned jazz musicians, has been playing music from this repertoire for more than forty years, and here he is joined by saxophonist Andrea Jones, guitarist Matthew O’Connell and drummer Michael McCarthy – three of the most promising young musicians to emerge on the Irish jazz scene in recent years. Expect music by Joe Henderson, Lee Morgan , Benny Golson, George Russell and more, and some seriously swinging grooves.
