FRINGE LAB are delighted to team up with Dublin Fringe Festival Associate Artist Dafe Orugbo to present Fringe FUSE: Fragile Edition. Join us for an evening of in-person work-in-progress, curated by and MC’d by Dafe with a line-up of Ahmed, With Love, Elkin, Lewwab & Evan Wilson.
The act of performing finished work relies on a great deal of vulnerability from the performer and the audience alike. However, the act of performing unfinished work is something of an entirely greater magnitude. A delicate yet imperfect dance that asks for nothing less than complete openness between the participator and their participant; a fragile relationship. It’s in this infirm state that great art and the experiences that come with it are formed. Sculpted and chiselled by each misstep, flubbed line and genuinely fragile moment in the process of creating something amazing.
“My favourite kind of art is one that invites audiences to be active participants in its practice. Whether it’s an interactive exhibit or a call-and-response chant at a gig, I love that aspect of the shared experience. This iteration of FUSE is incredibly exciting for me, because the audience isn’t only experiencing a piece but helping to develop and improve upon it.” – Dafe Orugbo, Curator
The event will include an Open Mic session giving you the opportunity to come up and perform your work-in-progress.
Fringe FUSE is a platform for work in development, please receive all performances in the spirit of scratch.
