Crow Black Chicken – Ten years of Electric Soup
Released to critical acclaim in 2012 Electric Soup is CBC’s debut album. In 2011 following on from winning the All Ireland battle of the bands to play Glastonbury the band decamped to a cow shed in the Nire Valley Co Waterford and recorded the record with legendary Irish producer Philip MaGee. The result was a raw slab of Irish rock recorded live with minimal overdubs capturing the energy of the band who were already well-worn road dogs by then. Join CBC on Sep 24th in Whelans as they celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the album by playing the album straight through in this iconic venue that is very close to their hearts and is intrinsically tied to the CBC story.
“Electric Soup is not only a promising debut, it’s a savage beast of a record: grimy, lean, mean, and soulful.” Allmusic.com
