Booka Brass return to their long standing annual SOLD OUT headline show at the Cork Jazz Festival this year, where they have sold out the Cork Opera House 4 years in a row.

We are very excited to announce a Dublin show in our old favourite, Whelans, on October 21st ahead of the Cork Jazz.

Expect some old school Booka energy!

Book early to avoid disappointment.

“Something magical happened at the Button Factory last Friday night. When fans of Booka Brass Band assembled in the venue for their late-night show, they had no idea that they were there to bear witness to a gig more awe-inspiring than anything Dublin had seen in months. Even though many had seen them play live before, nothing could have prepared us for the sheer brilliance of Friday’s set.” – InDublin.ie

‘Booka Brass Band have every right to be claimed as Ireland’s best live act right now’ – Golden Plec

‘If you can only take in one new act this festival season, make it Booka Brass Band’ – The Irish Independent”

During the lockdown in 2020, Booka Brass formed a more Covid safe, stripped back version of themselves to be able to pursue gigs safely and be more spread out on stages throughout the pandemic. They were doing shows as a 5-piece band, temporarily formed as ‘The Booka Club’.

This summer they will return to their Booka Brass original full band set up, playing their unique brand of New Orleans inspired urban brass; ready for summer stages, outdoor shows, upbeat sets and creating that summer festival feeling to prepare us all to celebrate getting back to our old selves post pandemic.

Back in late 2012 Booka Brass were brought together by their classical background and desire to experiment musically. Since then their trajectory has been constantly on the rise, from the success of their criti- cally acclaimed debut EP BBB, a sold-out nationwide tour alongside col- laborations and live performances with Irish music heavyweights including The Frames, Lisa Hannigan, Jape and James Vincent McMorrow. Their debut album Chilled Milk was released in September 2016 showcasing the band’s original sound with strong rhythmic displays throughout, and the band have been touring the album along with their famous covers since.
